Die Wiederkunft Jesu
Ein apokalyptisches Ereignis?
[The Second Coming of Jesus – an Apocalyptic Event?]
The question of when Jesus will return has not ceased to be asked within Christianity even after the Enlightenment, especially since Jesus himself announced his imminent return – that is, that God would finally emerge from his hiddenness. Yet his coming in power and glory has not manifested itself for two thousand years. Today, however, there is once again talk of the Antichrist and of the one who restrains him (the katechon). This study shows in what way the return of Jesus and the eschatological belong at the center of faith. They are misunderstood if we place them within a temporal framework, as part of a way of thinking that anticipates the future. If not in that way, then how?
